With the nine forms of devotion: Sravana, Kirtana, Smarana, Padasevana, Archana, Vandana, Dasya, Sakhya & Atmanivedana, lets bow down with reverence before our Guru who is the supreme being, the Lord of Lords, SatChitAnanda, from whom the living came into existence and in whom everyone merges, before him let us salute, and thank him for all the beautiful things he has done to us. May Lord Siva, Sai & Guru's grace be on all.

Assimilating our Beloved Baba in whatever we do

All of know that the Lord really dwells in all of us, is reachable and just a call away when invoked with a pure heart and love. What is needed from our end is wholehearted devotion and love.

Most of us would have heard the following beautiful bhajan:

Achyutam Keshavam Sai Damodaram, bhakata jana Vatsalam Sai Narayanam
kaun kehta hai sainath aate nahi
Bhakth Meera ke jaise bulate nahi

kaun kehta hai sainath khaate nahi
ber shabri ke tarrha khilate nahi

kaun kehta hai sainath naachte nahi
gopiyon ke tarrha nachaate nahin

kaun kehta hai bhagvan sote nahi
maa yashoda ke tarrha sulate nahin

kaun kehta hai Sai gale lagate nahi
bhakti hanumad ke tarrha hum nibhate nahin

kaun kehta hai Sai Preet nibhate nahi
Tum sudama ke jaise dhar aate nahi

This song goes on praising the lord Sainath with different names of Lord vishnu. These lyrics mean:

Who says Sainath does not come?
You dont call him with devotion of Meera towards Lord Sri Krisha

Who says Sainath does not eat?
You dont feed him like how shabari fed Lord Rama

Who says Sainath does not dance?
You dont make him dance like how gopis did to Sri Krishna

Who says Sainath does not sleep?
You dont make him sleep like how mother yashoda did to the infant baby Sri Krisha

We should by all means, leave all thoughts, remain calm, feel intentely, medidate on him to invoke him in whatever we do. It is said that Lord Nandi thought the world on how to think and meditate on Lord Siva, the Parabrahma during all times. The Lord Parabrahma really envelopes the whole universe in the various forms. Lord Nandi gifted the below Mantras to the world. Lets pass these on to the future generations. The essense of these Mantras is to invoke the Lords aid and feel his presence in whatever we do:

1. Om Sarvaya Namah
2. Om Bhimaya Namah
3. Om Bhavaya Namah
4. Om Rudraya Namah
5. Om Eshanaya Namah
6. Om MahaDevaya Namah
7. Om Pashupathiye Namah
8. Om Ugraya Namah

These have to be recited during specific times. We add Sai to these Mantras as we love our Sai and Sai is our Siva.

1. Om Sai Sarvaya Namah:
Lord envelopes this whole universe in the form of Sarvaya. This mantra is to be recited when we wake up in the morning or before putting our feet on the ground or while walking or enjoying the beautiful nature, Appreciate gods creation and recite this Mantra, the God will be with you.

When someone is furious over you, expressing anger & hatred towards you, Recite this Mantra when they approach towards you, this will turn them soft, loose their negative power and they become calm. The Lord's grace is already with you and has weakened his negative energy. Experience this Mantra but with devotion.

Recite these Mantras in your day to day life and experience the bliss of the Parabrahma. May Sai be with you all.

Baba's directions on Right Path

Jai Sai Ram
Apologies for not updating the blog for long time. Im clubbing together a few experiences i had recently with the most merciful and benevolent Saint, Shri Sai Baba.
Jan 2013 i was transfered on H1B visa to California, US. With Baba's blessings we settled well. Since then for about a month i did not get enough vibrations probably due to the new house and place. I enquired if there was any Baba temple near-by. I was immensely happy to find out that there was one called Shirdi Sai Darbar within 1.5 miles from my house. Then i started visiting the temple for Aarthis during the weekends. During one of the visit to the temple as i was walking along the road, my mind was in a state of Vairagya(dispassion) as i was thinking about how many more years are left for working out my Karma and when i will reach his abode of no return. Soon i found an American lady next to me enquiring about a Church. I told her its just next to the Sai baba temple am going. She said she will join me till there. The conversation soon turned into a strong vibration for me as she said Lord has sent for me to help her with the address. She said this body is divine and we should take a very good care of it as long as we live with it. She said she has no computers, no cell phones and she relys on her own.She is a farmer in near by place. She asked me about my job and I said I'm from India. She said she knew of many Saints in India and keeps visiting India often and spoke a few words about Shri Ramana Maharshi. She also told me that being in a place like America is very easy for one to get spoilt and we should be very careful in everything. I thanked her for her kind advices. As we walked we reached the church. She said everyone is same to her be it the Christ or Sai baba. She came to visit the church just to find the process and method they use to follow the Christ. She said she will next go to Baba's temple. I thanked, greeted her and left for the temple. I had a feeling that this is none other than Sai himself. How can an American Lady speak so much in depth of the leelas of Indian Saints. Wouldn't she know the process Christians follow at Church.  For me, she is none other than Sai who came timely to lift up my spirits.

The next experience goes like this:

Sri Sunkalamma Devi, Kondapur, Gooty,Anantapur Dist, AP
Jan 2013 we found a bridegroom for my younger sister with Baba's grace. She was engaged in May 2013 and her wedding is set in the following November. We have certain pre-marriage rituals in my family. One of the ritual is to offer a live goat to the village diety,Sri Sunkalamma who is none other than the form of Aadi Shakti. I'm always thankful and indebted to Sunkalamma for making me what im today. Its only due to her grace that i found Shri Sai Baba. Sunkalamma Devi showed me the path and i found my living Guru's Siddhaguru Sri Ramananda Maharshi,Vishakapatnam and Sai Maa Smt. Veena Guptaji New Delhi. Due to her grace i completed my studies successfully and placed in a good job. As a token of gratitude, i provided some funds for the renovation of the temple surroundings in the village. Im thankful to Maa for giving me this opportunity to serve her in this way.

And coming to the experience i had, this is the temple where the Goats are often offered to please the diety. And my family was no exception. From time immemorial, this ritual is followed. Just all were planning for this ceremony to be held in Jun 2013 and from few days before this ,during parayan, i read the Ordeal of Guru-Bahkti in Chapter 23 of Sai Sat Charitra (Please Read about it in the below section), in which Sai Baba puts a few devotees on test to check if they will go ahead and kill the goat or leave it off thinking that Sai pervades everything and is resides in every living being. Similarly he put me on test. A few days before this incident, i had a strong feeling to read about the great Saint of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy. I was reading it on the net but some how i got into my work and closed the browser. The next day, Sai baba aired the movie about this saint on the leading telugu channel. When i watched the TV, i see this same scene in this movie where the villagers will be ready to offer many goats to the diety named Poleru. Shri Veera Brahmendra Swamy says this is just a superticious belief. The villagers say the diety would be furious with them and will be displeased if they do not offer goat. Swamy says, he will spare his life for them and they should believe him. Before the entire crowd, he will pray and invoke the diety and there Maa Durga appears and blesses everyone. This is a real incident which has happened. Thus Villagers are convinced with the idea of feeling oneness with all living entities.

Baba's ways are insruitable. He gives different experiences, teaches different devotees in different ways. He showed me the path practically. I spoke to my family about my intutions and feelings and they, being Sai devotees readily accepted my idea. This superticious belief thus ended in my family but we will continue to pray the diety with all respect, love and devotion through generations to come.

Thanks Baba for showing the right path to us. You are our light. You are our Guru. We follow you.

Ordeal of Guru-Bhakti ( Chapter 23 of Sat Charitra )

While the Cholera-ordinance was in force in Shirdi, somebody brought a goat to the Masjid. It was weak, old and about to die. At this time Fakir Pir Mohamad of Malegaon alias Bade Baba was near. Sai Baba asked him to behead it with one stroke, and offer it as an oblation. This Bade Baba was much respected by Sai Baba. He always sat on the right hand of Sai Baba. After the chilim (pipe) was first smoked by him, it was then offered to Baba and others. After the dishes were served, at the time of taking meals at noon, Baba respectfully called Bade Baba and made him sit on His left side, and then all partook of food. Baba paid him also daily Rs.50/- out of the amount collected as Dakshina. Baba accompanied him hundred paces whenever he was going away. Such was his position with Baba. But when Baba asked him to behead the goat, he flatly refused, saying "Why it should be killed for nothing?" Then Baba asked Shama to kill it. He went to Radha-Krishna-Mai and brought a knife from her and placed it before Baba. Knowing the purpose for which the knife was taken, she recalled it. Then Shama went to bring another knife, but stayed in the Wada, and did not return soon. Then came the turn of Kakasaheb Dixit. He was 'good gold' no doubt, but had to be tested. Baba asked him to get a knife and kill the goat. He went to Sathe's Wada and returned with a knife. He was ready to kill it at Baba's bidding. He was born in a pure Brahmin family and never in his life knew killing. Though quite averse to do any act of violence, he made himself bold to kill the goat. All the people wondered to see that Bade Baba, a Mahomedan was unwilling to kill it while this pure Brahmin was making preparations to do so. He tightened his dhotar and with a semicircular motion raised his hand with the knife and looked at Baba for the final signal. Baba said - "What are you thinking of? Go on, strike". Then, when the hand was just about to come down, Baba said - "Stop, how cruel you are! Being a Brahmin, you are killing a goat?" Kakasaheb obeyed and kept the knife down and said to baba - "Your nectarlike word is law unto us, we do not know any other ordinance. We remember You always, meditate on Your Form and obey You day and night, we do not know or consider whether it is right or wrong to kill, we do not want to reason or discuss things, but implicit and prompt compliance with Guru's orders, is our duty and dharma".

Then Baba said to Kakaseheb, that He would Himself do the offering and killing business. It was settled that the goat should be disposed of near a place called Takkya, where fakirs used to sit. When the goat was being removed to that place, it fell dead on the way.

Hemadpant closes the Chapter with a classification of disciples. He says that they are of three kinds : (1) First or best (2) Second or middling and (3) Third or ordinary. The best kind of disciples are those who guess what their Gurus want and immediately carry it out and serve them without waiting for an order from them. The average disciples are those who carry out the orders of their Masters to a letter, without any delay, and the third kind of disciples are those, who go on postponing the carrying out of their orders and making mistakes at every step.

The disciples should have firm faith, backed up by intelligence and if they and patience to these, their spiritual goal will not be distant. Control of breath -- ingoing and outgoing, or Hath-Yoga or other difficult practices are not at all necessary. When the disciples get the above-mentioned qualities, they become ready for further instructions and the Masters then appear and lead them on, in their spiritual path to perfection.

Being in the company of a Guru

Recently on Hanuman Jayanti,I happened to read the following story of the Birth of Lord Hanuman. The story goes like this:
Hanuman was born to Anjana, a female vanara, and Kesari, a male vanara, in Anjana Giri mountain. Another name for Hanuman is "Anjaniputra" which means son of Anjana. His mother was an apsara who was born on Earth as a female vanara due to a curse. She would be redeemed from this curse on her giving birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva, and endowed with the Supreme Power of exalted devotion to Bhagwan Hari. Hanuman is endowed with 28 transcendental divine opulences, with perfection in each. Anjana, along with her husband Kesari, performed intense prayers to Lord Shiva to beget Him as her Child. Pleased with their devotion, Shiva granted them the boon they sought.Hence, Hanuman is also known as "Maharudra" because he was born of the boon given to Anjana by Shiva, who is also known as Rudra. The Valmiki Ramayana states that Kesari is the son of Brihaspati and that Kesari also fought on Rama's side in the war against Ravana.
Several different traditions account for Hanuman's birth. One is that at the time that Anjana was worshipping Lord Shiva, elsewhere, Dasharatha, the king of Ayodhya, was performing the Putrakama Yagna in order to have children. As a result, he received some sacred pudding, payasam, to be shared by his three wives, leading to the births of Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna. By divine ordinance, a kite snatched a fragment of that pudding and dropped it while flying over the forest where Anjana was engaged in worship. Vayu, the Hindu deity of the wind, delivered the falling pudding to the outstretched hands of Anjana, who consumed it. Hanuman was born to her as a result.

Sai Maa, Smt. Veena Guptaji,
W/o Sri Ashok Guptaji New Delhi
This story made me focus on the following thought. Anjana maata received the droppings of the sacred pudding which originated as a result of yagna/havan by the pure souls and gave birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva, endowed with the Supreme Power of exalted devotion to Sri Rama. What a power the sacred pudding had. If often, whenever given a chance, if a disciple happens to be under the aura of a Guru who is a perfect Siddha, then the seemless energy which the Siddha guru receives as a result of his perfect meditative state, gets transferred to the bhaktas under the Guru's aura. We need to be in the company of the Guru whenever we get a chance or rather try to grab a chance. The power which i receive from my Guru is also such, which i feel is no less than the power of the sacred pudding which Anjana Maata received. I often feel this state in the company of both of my Guru Maa, Veena Maa who often bestows me with the Udhi showered by the Lord Shri Sai. My Guru has has her own way of taking devotees on the marg of Atma Shakshatkar. Even Wonderful is the power above all. The power from which everything originates and to which everything merges into. This power and energy is our Sai, the supreme of All, the source of All. May this world always be under your divine Aura Sai.

Baba presents me a basket of fresh fruits and vegetables

Feb 2011 Experience:
It was during the end of Feb 2011 when one of my project work @ my office got completed and i was looking out for another project. Few companies have project to project technical discussions before hiring a resource for a project. I faced the discussion and got selected for the project. But my onboarding to project was delayed 2 weeks. The client was one of the biggest in the world and a dream client to work for, for many of the software professionals. I got the previlage for working for that client and its been a year or so, am still working for the same project and client. One week before joining the client workplace, i had a dream in the early hours. I see Baba comes in kafni and hands over a basket of fresh fruits and vegetables in my hand. Surprised, i thank Baba for what he has presented me. I did not know the meaning of it until i joined the client workplace but i was sure that this indicated something very good that's going to happen. I got confirmed and got onboarded to the new project. You know what...the client provides world class food and thats free of cost. There are chefs exclusively working for providing a very tasty menu. You get all kinds of snacks, soft drinks, fresh fruits all time and good breakfast, lunch & dinner. The work that i do is quite interesting. Am really enjoying what i do for the client. Baba is really great. He plans ahead what needs to be given and what not. This is Baba's bhiksha to me. Am really thankful to Baba for what he has been doing to me since i came to his fold.

Baba visits me on the previous day of my Marriage

22-Oct-2011, Saturday was my marriage with Suma. I visited Shri Sai Baba temple @ Guntakal, Andhra Pradesh and invited Baba to my marriage and offered the wedding card to his holy feet. I also posted another card to Shri Sai Baba and my guru sai maa, Smt. Veena guptaji, New Delhi and One to my guru, Shri Ramananda Maharshi who always inspired me to sing Shri sai baba's Songs. Maharshi has a sweet voice and sang as many as 500+ Sankeerthans on Shri Sai baba. Meditating on Shri Sai Baba & listening to the sankeertans sung by Shri Ramananda maharshi has always been very powerful. I have always been concentrating on Shri Sai and amazed by his sports and Leelas and keep thinking of it every minute. Shri Sai thus is always close to my mind and heart.

My day of wedding was approaching with all preparations going on in parallel. I was very confident that Baba would visit me in some form during my wedding ceremony. A week before on Saturday early morning, i had a dream. Baba appeared sitting next to me. He looked well built and had big eyes and strong hands. He held my hand in his and said "Why are you worried?...Don't you know that i will come to your wedding. I will come to your wedding ...i will come to your wedding". I asked Baba.."Baba...how will i see you..., where exactly will i see you" Baba just smiled and disappeared and i woke up suddenly. Felt very happy and sentimental too.

I was confident that Baba would come and bless me and Baba acknowledged my belief. The day before marriage was my first marriage ritual, the "Haldi function", in which the Haldi (turmeric powder) would be applied on the face and hands of the bridegroom as it happens in every Hindu family. We went in procession to a near by "Sri Sunkalamma Devi" (Form of Durga Maa) temple. Once pooja is performed to the Diety, Haldi would be applied on the face. We reached the temple and stood on the temple premises and the elders went into the Garba gudi (inner sanctorium of temple). All of a sudden an old man appeared and approached me. He had a very pleasing personality. He was in his 60s and wore a pant and light shirt. He had big eyes with white and grey eye brows. He had lite beard. He raised his hand as if he we knew each other from very long and as if he was wishing me and blessing me saying he has come invited. I never saw him before. He came closely and stood just next to me.I saw him into his eyes. As i looked at him, i felt oneness with him. His eyes spoke a lot, as if he knew everything going on but we never exchanged a single word. I kept looking at him as if he will initiate a conversation. He kept silent. Just smiled at all of us pleasingly. Yes, He looked exactly the man i saw in my dream. He was Baba. His eyes, his face resembled the man in my dream. I felt very happy. I controlled and hid my tears. I told my younger sister Anitha, Baba is here. She saw and was excited. Yes..she said "..his body gestures resembled the same Sai Baba of Shirdi". As he was standing very near, almost touching us, one of my uncles asked him to sit on a stone seat near by. Do you know how he sat. He sat with one leg crossing the other, again acknowledging me that its ME only.

I kept gazing at him. All my inner senses were excited. I never spoke a word as if someone made me silent. As if some one has answered all my queries. As if someone has given me everything i wanted..As if someone fulfilled all my wishes, As if i had nothing to ask for, As if i accomplished everything in this world and nothing more and nothing less is needed anymore. Probably he knew i would not speak up and all my words had emptied, he initiated the first sentence and asked my sis, Anitha.

Baba: Whose Marriage is it.
Anitha: Showing me...My brother's.
Baba: Smiling. Do you know krishnaji..who is a Darji, meaning, a tailor.
Anitha: We don't know
Baba: Tomorrow, its his pooja here. (As if he has to attend his pooja. I felt Krishnaji should also be another staunch devotee of Baba and has attended Baba for his marriage)
Anitha & Me: Nodded our heads.

I still never spoke a word. We knew it was Baba for sure, but not sure why i did not speak up. I could have touched his feet. Not sure why i stood dumb. Later, i realized i could have done all this. Baba, please forgive me. You are all in all for me and all of us. I'm nothing without you. Its only because of your Biksha that i'm what i'm. I'm still waiting for my marriage pics taken from the photographer's camera. It should have Baba's pictures. I will post them if the Baba i met is in them. My relatives who performed the pooja inside the inner sanctorium came outside with Maa's haldi to put it on my face to mark the start of the function. It was then that Baba left us blessing and looking at all of us most pleasingly. All of them, men & women who came to our function were asking me who it was. I told them it was my Baba who came to me. He left as silently as he came. We went back home in procession.
Next day, it was my marriage. On both days, i took a big portrait of Baba and kept it on the stage, just next to me. Baba was sitting close to me during my marriage. One of my wife's friend, brought a nice big portrait of Shri Sai Baba. Baba's portrait is equivalent to Baba himself as proven in Sai Satcharithra. It was an amazing experience of sorts to me to have Baba attend my marriage functions on both days.
Thanks Baba for all the joy you gave during my wedding. I wish i could still write how much it means to me while i say a Thanks to you. Koti koti thanks to my Parama Guru. You are just greatest of everything in this universe.

Sai Answers - Experience

Wed, 15 Sep 2010 23:20:38 -0700

I would like to share with all sai bandhus, an experience i had today on how Baba preaches us demonstrating it practically. Even when Baba was in flesh, he never used to instruct orally to devotees questions. He used to demonstrate them by giving live experiences. As we all know, his ways and leelas are inscrutable. I recite and do Sri Sai Amrith vani every thursday regularly. I have been doing this from my first visit to Veena ma's son's residence @ Hyderabad during early 2008. Since then Sai has transformed my life completely for the better - for both wordly and spirtually. This thursday, after 2-1/2 yrs, for the first time, i never did Sri Sai Amrith vani because one of my uncle passed away and it was "Soothak" (Refraining from doing any kind of Pooja for 11 days) to my family. But i was not feeling good to be away from Baba's Pooja. So i questioned Baba this morning and wanted to email Veena ma if i can continue to do the Amrithvani even during these 11 days. On this same day, i was reading the Devotees experiences written by Shri B.V. Narasimha swamiji.(Ebook on below link). http://literature.saibaba.com/books/devotees_experiences/part3/p218.html In this book, one of the then devotee, Shri Vinayak Daji Bhave has written his experiences...His words goes like this...."...My mother Annapoornabai Daji Bhave went to Shridi. There when she tried to enter the mosque, Sai baba prevented her saying it would pollute the mosque. When she returned to yeola, she received a card from from Yootmal that her daughter-in-law had died on a particular date - which was the day before my mother's visit to the shirdi mosque. She had to observe 10 days pollution("Soothak") from that day onwards. She did not know it then, But Baba knew it evidently...." Thus Baba answered me saying that i should observe the 10 day soothak. But how can i be away from your thoughts my dear Baba...hence i was reading this book when the all pervading hinted me thus.

Bow to Shri Sai. Peace be to all.

At the lotus feet of sadguru Shri sai,
Pisay Sudheer Kumar.
